Editor's Note

This is our first attempt at publishing a newsletter on the WWW. We hope you will find the format appealing, and easy to navigate. Changes will be made based on the feedback we receive from you, our readers. Any news, or information, from members of our Marriage Encounter Community is always welcome and will be added to the next issue.
Since this is our introductory issue we will feature some categories seen in past issues of Love and Care. If you have ideas for additional categories, please email them to the editors.
When a new issue is published, we will email all those who subscribe with the new link.
            Thanks,
              Wayne and Donna Cocca

From Our Leadership

Hello Lovers,
We would just like to say a few things and let you know how we are doing. The last six months have carried many surprises for us. Some good, and others we are still working on. We have been able to visit some Cores and we want to thank them for their hospitality to us. We are hoping to visit every Core by early fall. We also thank those Cores who have stepped forward and hosted community events, such as the Breakfast Picnic, Whitewater Rafting, and of course, Summerfest. We are looking forward to seeing more community events over the next year. We thank everyone who has pitched in to make these events a success.
We are sorry to say the Fr. Paul Campbell has been reassigned to the West Coast. We believe he is with us in spirit. We also know that his presence will truly be missed.
In conclusion, we would like to let everyone know that if you have any concerns or ideas for our area, please contact us at 564-6628 or email us at adeannal@juno.com

                  God Bless!
                       Sophie and Adrian

Notes from the Mailbox

Dear Encountered Family of Syracuse,
Let it be known that Gene Weis of Rochester, Newark Valley, Owego and Waterloo
is retiring from Administration June 29, 2004 at 6:00pm.
I will be living in Elmira four months of the year and in Lady Lake, Fl (Orlando Diocese) eight months of the year, enabling me to do M.E. weekends two to three times per year in each location.
Only older couples will remember me doing Carrier Circle weekends - Aherns, Coccas, Judges, etc. I used to do a lot with the Trespases out of Endicott and Binghamton. Peace and good luck to you all!!  Keep dialoguing.
                   Father Gene Weis
                   (The Pepsi Padre)

.....on the death of Robert Collins, Sr.....
Dear ME Community,
"Seeds, like hearts......Must open to love!"
Our hearts are open. We love you very much. Your love and support were so wonderful and we thank you for the Mass Card at Immaculate Conception in Fulton. We also got a Mass Card from Community from Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary in Hannibal!
Keep loving each other and dialoguing!
                   Love,
                   Bob and Chris Collins

WWME News

New Reservations Couple
We are happy to announce that Jeff and Shannon Lewis will be answering the phone and questions, taking reservations for Marriage Encounter Weekends in our area, and encouraging callers to make a weekend. It's a very important job, as they are "the ambassadors" for many couples curious about ME. The Lewises are "on fire" and perfect for this position!
FYI, the local phone number to register for a weekend is 315-449-1830. Toll Free it's 888-801-8463
Thank you and congratulations, Jeff and Shannon!

Any couple who has attended a weekend within the last three years has talked on the phone with Bob and/or Chris Collins. As they retire from the title of "Reservation Couple", we sincerely thank them for all their time, enthusiasm, and efficiency in carrying out "the dream". Their passion about Marriage Encounter was evident to anyone they spoke to. A debt is owed to Bob and Chris for going above and beyond "the call" to fill our Syracuse Area weekends.
                 Thank you, Bob and Chris!!
